  📋🎢At 17 I was promoted to Rides Team Leader at the Stockvale I was fully aware that I know had to make sure that people took me seriously despite in some cases being 40 years their junior. I believe I excelled in my job as a team leader as the standard of customer service was not only visibly noticeable when watching my ride host safely go about entertaining the guests but statistically notable as my team were often top Rides team in the company. My other responsibilities include attending Leadership meetings every morning and evening were we discussed the performance of our staff and egularly communicated with the maintenance staff about functionality of the rides. I would then lead my own morning meeting with my staff were I would have to efficiently communicate the points of the leadership meeting to my team as well as motivate them to begin the day. I Handled customer grievances, queries, and requests. I learned how to maintain good communication skills with my staff and the management working across a large park. I also dabbled in recruitment, operating phIones, scoring up to 20 members of on a given day at least 5 times a day as well as scoring the whole 50 person team at least 25 times a month. Working 12 hour days and averaging at least 40 hours per week during summer months whilst not at school and 24 hours a week whilst still in full time education taught me self-discipline motivation and how a business in a barnstorming industry operates. Show less 🎢As a ride host my job was to be completely in control of my environment; whether that be a small children’s train on a small circular track or the park’s -as well as one of Southend on-sea’s- main attractions RAGE. My main responsibilities included: Being the “on-board entertainment” making up songs to sing with the children, engaging in rapport with the parents, cross-selling and upselling products and amusements within the park, being entirely responsible for the training of new staff, ensure children are the appropriate height and age for rides, latch passengers in securely. Learning how to competently use radio ommunication, responding to and dealing with customer complaints. Operating heavy passenger-carrying machinery. Maintaining an immaculate ride area, providing assistance to elderly and disabled customers. Being a ride host taught me the importance of exceptional customer service. Show less
