We reviewed fiction/ poetry submissions for up-and-coming writers for inclusion in publishing, also holding writing contests. I started my sophomore year as a regular staff member on the fiction committee. For my junior/senior year I was the fiction editor, along with managing all office duties, e-commerce sales, and maintaining the website. We produced 2 issues a year: one fall issue, available online only, and one spring issue that was order-able in print for purchase.–Discussed content submissions in weekly meetings with a panel for publication.–Fulfilled all e-commerce sales for merchandise and purchase of our publications on our website.–Tracked inventory, provided invoices, and communicated with customers purchasing our products.–Redesigned the layout of our website using Wix (web-hosting platform), and updated content into Wix to be included on the site such as: the about section, contact information, journal issue descriptions, and current news/event information.–Edited content with poetry editor for bi-annual publication of the journal.–Acted as a point of contact for submitting writers, printing company, contest winners and inquiries from the community.–Managed social media pages by not only writing posts, but responding to any inquiries from the community through various platforms.–Collaborated with other editors through the bi-annual publication process of the journal.–Hired artists for featured cover art for each issue.–Marketed awareness with other editor for events, issue releases, and new merchandise, by writing web copy and social media copy.–Attended annual AWP Conference at various locations across the US with rest of the committee leaders.
