      I proudly served in the Royal Ulster Constabulary (GC) from August 1984 until it was incorporated into the Police Service of Northern Ireland in November 2001, in various roles (uniform and Detective) in different parts of Northern Ireland.

      I was responsible for the strategic management of all Organised Crime investigations in Northern Ireland. My Investigative Teams targeted Organised Crime Groups involved in drug trafficking, armed robbery, fraud, intellectual property crime, human trafficking, cyber crime etc. I represented PSNI at the Organised Crime Task Force in Northern Ireland, chaired by the Minister of Justice.I represented Northern Ireland at a number of UK National Police Committees (ACPO), which provide strategic leadership in the following areas:- Organised Crime- Crime Business Area- Economic Crime and previously represented Northern Ireland on the following National Policing Committees:- Drugs- FirearmsI represented PSNI on a number of the UK National Crime Agency groups:- National Tactical Tasking and Coordination- National Strategic Tasking and Coordination- International Serious Organised Crime - Regional Organised Crime Unit Coordination- Prisons and Lifetime Management of Organised Criminals Show less Responsible for the corporate management of PSNI response to four separate Public Inquiries into victims of murder. These Inquiries were:- Murder of Robert Hamill 1997- Murder of Billy Wright 1997- Murder of Rosemary Nelson 1999- Murder of Superintendent Bob Buchanan and Chief Superintendent Harry BreenResponsible for the corporate management of PSNI response to multiple Inquests into 'legacy' deaths in compliance with Coroners Act & Article 2 of the Human Rights Act.Responsible for the review and reinvestigation of hundreds of unsolved murders from 1969-2004 Show less

      Responsible for the planning and delivery of the security for the World Police & Fire Games, held in Northern Ireland 1-10th August 2013. This was attended by over 7000 serving & retired law enforcement officers from around the world and was held in the context of a severe terrorist threat existing in Northern Ireland. Planning required close working with Government, public & private sectors, the Organising Body, and intelligence agencies.The WPFG 2013 was described by the President of the Games Federation as the most successful and friendliest ever held.       I was a Deputy Director in the UK National Crime Agency, and was most recently the national lead for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. I was national lead for human trafficking / modern slavery. I created and led Specialist Investigations - leading on the UK largest child sexual abuse investigation (Op. STOVEWOOD) and an investigation into alleged Police corruption in the Metropolitan Police Service (Stephen Lawrence murder). I have extensive experience across the NCA for leading the most complex serious and organised crime, including corruption, modern slavery and illicit finance.I led the creation of the UK Protected Persons Service.
