  During this 5-day work placement with St James's Place Establishment Division on Lombard Street I was tasked with the project of trying to get into the minds of three different groups: Sportspeople retiring, those retiring early and outplacement executives. With each, I had to find firms that provided them services in addition to creating a list of engagement ideas for which St James's Place could use to introduce themselves in a hopes to recruit them to the Partnership or the Academy. I collated my findings into a written report and presented them to the organisers of the experience. I also shadowed a few meetings and outbound calls that took place throughout the insightful week.   'Investment Bank Sales and Trading' Simulation

  Having been very successful in the initial 'Finance Accelerator' Simulation, I was invited to take part in the more challenging 'Investment Bank Sales and Trading' Simulation. This more vigorous four-hour experience provided me a far greater insight into Investment Banking then its predecessor, adding on an extra layer of complexity through cross-trading on the platform with other participants. I was awarded a Level 4 Diploma as a result of the Simulation.

  Investment Banking Technicals Course

  This two-day course provided great insight into what Investment Banking is, how to be successful in interviews for any job in Finance and key Financial knowledge required to be successful in the industry. The first day consisted of Sameer Merchant explaining the roles within Investment Banking and interview advice before providing core accounting knowledge with balance sheets and income statements. The second day required participants to fill out a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement for a dummy firm, providing fantastic and unique insight into the groundwork of being successful in Investment Banking.
