      GLM grew from a business concept to a small-medium media enterprise operating in Blantyre, Malawi with various equipment and 4 temporary staff. Our biggest assignment came in November 2018 when we supplied photography, videography and graphic design services for the Malawi Innovators Design Competition, which brought in stakeholders including the Malawi Government, University of Malawi and the Rice University 360 Program.

      The Youth Think Tank (YTT) is a research collective of 40 young leaders across 7 African countries (Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Ghana), funded by the Mastercard Foundation and coordinated by Restless Development. Currently, the YTT is conducting research on "Expanding Youth Businesses".

      Malawi has one of the lowest electricity access rates in the world, with only 11% of the population connected to the national grid. With an estimated 15 Million Malawians in the dark, Sollys Energy is bridging the energy access gap by making quality solar lighting affordable and accessible to rural and remote households and businesses. Sollys Energy distributes solar lanterns and solar home systems using a network of local sales agents, enabling customers to pay flexibly over a period of time using Pay-As-You-Go technology. Since August 2020, we have reached 500+ households with our products and plan to expand to reach 1000 households by the end of 2023. Sollys Energy is a Winner of the 2020 Distribution Prize (D-Prize), "Top 96 Youth-led Projects in Sustainable Energy" by the Youth Sustainable Energy Hub and "Top 100 Youth-led Climate Innovations in Africa" by UNDP Africa Innovates.       The Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition Youth Action Group (CSET Youth) sits under the Commonwealth Youth for Sustainable Urbanization network.The key objective of CSET Youth is to empower youth of the Commonwealth to support, contribute to, and advocate for sustainable energy transition in the Commonwealth and help to achieve SDG7 measures and targets including electricity access (7.1.1), clean cooking access (7.1.2), renewable energy (7.2) and energy efficiency (7.3) by 2030.

The goal of the Forum was to provide space for greater inclusion of youth in the energy transition and present the work of youth to senior decision-makers.
