      Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Secretary on the Navy Dec 2015 For professional achievement as avionics supervisor from January 2014 to February 2016. He was instrumental in the command's safe and successful completion of 4,000 mishap free flight hours encompassing over 500 sorties, in support of the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) expeditionary strike group. Petty Officer Rivas consistently performed his demanding duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. Using relentless drive and technical expertise, he assisted in the completion of 985 special and 815 conditional inspections, 211 maintenance actions expending 978 maintenance man hours enabling the squadron's safe execution of 18,198 flight hours. His meticulous motivation and guidance was vital in the qualification of six collateral duty inspectors, 52 support equipment licenses, and the advancement of three junior personnel. As work center maintenance training petty officer, his dedicated efforts ensured 100% work center compliance during the highly successful 2013 CHSMWL Organizational Maintenance Program Assessment and Naval Safety Center Survey visit.
