      Assisted in the development of a community-based participatory research partnership with the Bell Building, an initiative of the Neighborhood Service Organization in Detroit that provides permanent supportive housing for people who have experienced chronic homelessness. Initially, I enrolled residents of the building into the Healthy Michigan Plan through the Medicaid expansion provided by the Affordable Care Act. The partnership led to a Community-Based Participatory Research PhotoVoice project, and I assisted in the study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings. Show less

      As the Project Coordinator, I helped provide capacity-building assistance to 84 Teen Pregnancy Prevention programs across the U.S. through funding from the Office of Adolescent Health.       In my role as Project Manager, I oversaw and coordinated all three phases of a national HIV prevention clinical trial. In this role I managed all systems for participant social media recruitment, study-arm randomization, incentive payments, retention, and study close-out. I also supervised two research associates and one research assistant by meeting weekly to provide support and guidance and conducting annual performance reviews. In addition to managing the study logistics, I also conducted participant qualitative interviews and HIV testing sessions, employing relationship and motivational interviewing skills with ongoing supervision. Show less In my role as Research Associate, I coordinated research study visits and facilitated HIV testing and substance use intervention sessions for sexual and gender minority youth in Southeast Michigan. Additionally, I participated in group and individual supervision to ensure HIV testing sessions adhered to substance use counseling and motivational interviewing standards. I also executed the social media strategy for participant recruitment and supervised research assistants with participant retention and venue-based sampling.
