Learn the procedure of inspection and signing off of pressure mains, pressure vessels and stacks. Learn to fit pipes, plastic welds and chemical resistance fibre glass pipelines.Major 3 months project at Sasol, Sasolburg. It was approximately a 160 isometric drawing. Pipelines from 50 nominal bore to 600 nominal bore pipes. One of 4 supervisors all under 1 site manager at Sasolburg where these pipes had to be installed. I had 3 artisans and 6 laminators under my supervision. Multi million rand project. It was on this project where I was introduced to pipe designing and drafting, as each supervisor was allocated with his drawing pack that needs to be manufactured and installed on site. Show less

About 1500 ton of steel had to be cut down into pieces. 8 Artisan (gas cutters) and 10 workers had to be supervised. I was the appointed manager on PPC Lime Acress site. Had to take care of site diaries, safety talks, risk assessments, tool list talks, liaise with clients. It involved major planning, scheduling and allocation of resources to meet the contract deadline. A safer approach of the demolishment was to focus on materials‘ stress and strengths. Steel structures were cut in a specialized way. Concrete structures were demolished with explosives. The second mine plant consist out of two Beckenbach upright kilns each with its own structures, feeders and structures.Achievement:Completing the project successfully, handling of laborers disputes and the handling of some injuries that occurred as this was a high-risk demolishment site. The project is called the AMV3 plant at a weight of 2400 ton. It is the process plant on De Beers Marine (part of Anglo American group) latest and largest ever production ship. De Beers will use this ship to mine the ocean bed for diamonds near the West coast of Namibia.This entire project is at a value of $375 million.
