      Public Relations Officer

      I worked at Guides Victoria (part of the Girl Guides of Australia) in the role of public relations as my first position upon graduation and working for a not for profit was a great lesson in creativity early on. Key responsibilities were media relations, organising events and assisting in the development of publications.

      I once again worked in various positions during my time with Alcoa. I began in Corporate Relations in a graduate position, largely looking after corporate publications and managing a database of key stakeholders. During this time I also assisted in internal communications across refineries and minesites on an as needed basis. I soon moved to Wagerup Refinery where I took up the role of Community Relations Officer, managing community consultation, media, sponsorship and stakeholder relations on behalf of the refinery. I started working with London Underground and was involved in the internal communications campaign to transfer existing London Underground employees to Tube Lines under the Public Private Partnership for the Underground. I also worked in Project Communications for Tube Lines, which included community consultation and media liaison on key projects.

Soapbox PR was established in January 2011 as a merger between Soapbox Communications and Louise Richardson & Associates and together with my business partner we grew Soapbox into an amazing agency during its 4 year life, culminating in being named in the Top 10 WA PR agencies in the 2014 Business News book of lists and the 2014 winner of the Swan Chamber of Commerce Professional Services Award.
