      Logistics Specialist

During my four-year enlistment in the United States Navy I was promoted four pay grades in four years. I specialized in supply chain management for aircraft operations on the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74). Over the course of two deployments, I climbed the ranks and became the supervisor of the Program Management Unit leading three sailors. Together, we controlled the supply of multimillion-dollar aircraft assets essential to mission success.I was responsible for assuring the 90 aircraft onboard had the assets required to maintain mission readiness. If an asset was not onboard the carrier, it was PMU’s duty to expedite the shipment of these mission critical parts to the deployed carrier. My job required me to maintain an Aircraft Maintenance Report reflecting the status of all mission critical assets. With the crucial information included in this report, I gave a daily brief to three department heads. During this period of my career I developed the ability to work under pressure, effectively communicate mission critical information up the chain of command, and lead my unit to produce quality results. Additionally, I had an opportunity to support the carrier’s financial position. During my last quarter in the Navy, I saved our carrier $5M in operational funds by improving supply chain functions. * Maintaining focus amid the chaos of flight operations.* Making sound decisions while exhausted and overwhelmed. * Learned how to make decisions without constantly asking permissions.
