Eng. Degree at the University of Pretoria in 1980. He also obtained his M.Eng. at the University of Pretoria in 1992, where he obtained the Masters Degree in Technology Management.Alf led several complex industrial projects as Project Manager and lead process and design engineer, notably the following:- A Hot Isostatic Pressure facility in 1989 to 1991 which was considered at that time as one of the advanced internationally.- The establishment of a non-ferrous foil rolling mill and associated chemical cleaning plant in 1998. Alf attended the rolling mill demonstration in Europe, the dismantling thereof and shipping to SA. The challenge with this project was that the foil rolling mill and chemical cleaning plant had to be installed and commissioned in an operational factory.- The upgrade and commissioning of a moth-balled ferrous and non-ferrous processing factory in an African country in 2001. The challenge with this project was that the production equipment was modified and/or "cannibalized" prior to moth-balling.Alf was the Project Manager for major residential developments including site and bulk services. The one consisted of >2000 units comprising stand alone houses, clusters and high density apartment blocks. Another was a development comprising of 336 four bedroom apartments in 9 different four storey blocks. Show less
