      While at Upstate Medical University, Ms. Hoskins provided psychotherapy and assessment for children (ages 6-17) and their families who presented with a variety of psychological concerns including: Major Depressive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and several other mood, anxiety, and behavioral disorders and concerns. She also had the opportunity to learn, observe, and co-lead the Adolescent Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Group at Upstate Medical University. At Galisano Children's Hospital (located on the Upstate Campus), she assessed for the presence of psychological symptoms and PTSD following a physical trauma. Her training placed me alongside Pre-Doctoral Adult Psychology Interns, Social Work Interns, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry Fellows. She participated in several seminars and clinics including: Childhood Trauma, Assessment, DBT, Anxiety Disorders, and Child Rounds. She also provided clinical supervision to medical students rotating through the Addictions Clinic in the Department of Psychiatry. Show less

      Dr. Hoskins' primary clinical duties included overseeing two specialty programs. The Youth Exhibiting Sexual Symptoms (YESS) is a cognitive-behavioral-based treatment provided to youth who exhibit sexually problematic or concerning behavior. She also designed, implemented, and supported the Alternative Treatment Program (ATP) which is an individualized treatment designed for patients who are unable to benefit from standard programming. She led therapy groups, and treated youth through individual therapy. She also provided intake assessments and psychological testing. Additional responsibilities included supervising doctoral and masters level students, collaborating with hospital administrative and treatment teams, and assessing current, and developing new, hospital specialization programs.       Within this role, Dr. Hoskins served as a Staff Psychologist, providing counseling and therapeutic services to undergraduate and graduate students on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses. Clinical services included individual therapy, crisis intervention, "Let's Talk", program development, and assessment. Dr. Hoskins serves as liaison to Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) to reach out to and engage Black/African-American students in counseling and therapeutic services on campus and within the community. Dr. Hoskins recently developed Sister, Sister- a support group for Black women in graduate and professional school. Dr. Hoskins also co-facilitated Northwestern University's first Graduate Students of Color Support and Wellness Group. These groups were designed to provide a safe space for graduate students of color to discuss issues of concern, glean wisdom and support from their peers, and learn how to integrate self-care into the high demands of graduate school.
