Skills learnt: planting smaller plugs and watering in new plants.08/11 - Worked with primroses. Re-organising part of a greenhouse in a team. Cleaning and picking over primrose plants to increase health of the plant and make them look attractive to future buyers.22/11 - Worked with senecio. Checking for orders and then spacing out. Arranging plants and pots in a shop to appear attractive to customers.20/12 - Performing necessary winter tasks, e.g. raking leaves, pruning above new growth, sweeping. The morning was spent preparing plants for orders, which included checking for and removing any dead leaves, dead-heading flowers and watering any dry plants. In the afternoon, I assisted in packing cyclamen for the market and rearranging the plants to clear space in the greenhouse for other plants to come in (spacing-out).This day gave me insight into working with cyclamen and corm plants in a professional environment. Also, I learnt that if a plant is not producing enough flowers, it needs more nitrogen and that it is best to water plants from the bottom, where possible Show less
