      Assumed full Operations Management responsibility for the FACTS-1 Global Climate Change Research Facility located in the Blackwood Division of Duke Forest including personnel safety and treatment performance, coordinating on-the-ground investigative team efforts across multiple research groups to achieve quality research product while fostering a safe, non-threatening work environment. Leverage the talents of team members, vendors and researchers to accomplish daily operational goals. Generate and maintain project data and metrics, procure and maintain essential equipment and supplies. Develop, enforce, and comply with all regulatory and administrative policies and procedures. Responsible for FACTS-1 Facility decommissioning.       Operations Manager - SPRUCE Project

      I currently serve as the Operations Manager, Technical Project Officer, and Principal Technologist for ORNL’s SPRUCE project, a remote, industrial scale, environmental manipulation research facility located in Northern Minnesota. My primary responsibility is to provide a quality platform for ORNL and collaborative research teams investigating ecosystem level responses of high carbon peatlands under environmental warming and elevated levels of atmospheric CO2. This support often takes the forms of technical and scientific staff supervision and mentoring, contract development and administration, budget oversight and accounts management, establishing, executing and monitoring preventative maintenance schedules and procedures, facility operations, research campaign coordination, instrumentation installation, maintenance, calibration and inventory, data collection, analysis and dissemination, operational and safety protocol development and monitoring health and safety issues on site. ttp://mnspruce.ornl.gov/ Show less
