      Sept 1998 - Jul 2001
Jumps Coach with Varsity Track and Field

Inherited a group of six keen pole vaulters and quickly built this into a large group of 22 athletes. This was a combination of male and female athletes, specializing in pole vault though there were a few other jumpers (long and triple jump). Numerous records were set in this group including regional, provincial and National. Most significant success was a National Jnr Record in men's pole vault. Athletes under my guidance played a pinnacle role in helping the men capture their only Men's National Title in the history of the University of Alberta. In addition, the marketing and infrastructure I created for the development of this unique sport helped support its continued programming at the University of Alberta today. Show less

Jumps Coach with Varsity Track and Field

Exciting opportunity to coach with University of Alberta again under a new Head Coach and with a different role focusing primarily on long and triple jump, as well as some high jump. This coaching involved a group that ranged from 10-15 jumpers, several of whom also balanced competing in multiple events. This coaching experience was an excellent opportunity for me to re-establish a love for coaching Track and Field and get out of my comfort zone working primarily with pole vaulters.
