    • Ex Curia International

      Jun 2020 - now
      Founder; Editor-in-chief; Host

Ex Curia International is a Global Dispute Resolution Forum. ECI features a blog, podcast and journal. Ex Curia International is born out of its founder’s desire to provide a global platform to aficionados in the International Dispute Resolution sphere. ECI was created with the intent to unify diverse opinions that exist in the international ADR community. An individual’s opinions are guided by one’s personal experiences, circumstances, ethnicity and background. Our founder is of the ideology to allow these voices to cumulate at one place, which in turn promotes one to make a conscious decision for oneself. ECI intends to aid the process of picking up best practices to be applied in one’s own jurisdiction. The challenge was now to convert this academic pursuit into a ground-breaking reality. It really became a question of one person trying to change the entire world. For constant inspiration and support, our young founder welded together some of the biggest names in the field of international dispute resolution to form ECI’s vigorous board of advisors. To fuel the initiative forward, she fused together a dynamic and robust team of students and young practitioners, hailing from countries seven seas apart. Despite time differences, language barriers, and cultural differences, their passion for dispute resolution brought them together to create an International Dispute Resolution Forum, namely Ex Curia International. Ms. Ananya Agrawal is proud to be identified as one of the participants who successfully presented their solutions to the problems faced in the dispute resolution sphere today. As part of the rigorous selection process, SAMA invited responses from law students to “pick a problem faced in dispute resolution in India and come up with an innovative solution to solve for the same”. ECI’s response was drafted by Ananya Agarwal and Saurabh Gupta, two of our founding editors and core members. The issues that ECI identified include a lack of professionalisation in mediation; lack of resources, information and access to ADR mechanisms; lack of inward innovation at the grassroots level; gap between the ADR-related skills required and those imparted through Indian legal education, amongst others. We would like to thank SAMA for this eminent opportunity. We feel privilege to have such resourceful personalities on board who have found opportunities to represent the country and the youth at large. Show less
