    • Epaz (environmental professionals of arizona)

      May 2014 - now
      Association manager

The Environmental Professionals of Arizona (EPAZ) is a state-wide organization with no affiliation to a national organization. It was started in 1986 as the HazWaste Society. As a member since 1997, I’ve held many volunteer positions for this non-profit 503(c) organization including Treasurer (1998-2001), President (2001-2003) and Website Committee Chair (2003-2014). Over the years I’ve also actively and consistently participated on the membership committee and the conference planning committee. As the website chair I helped bring the organization to the digital age with online event registration, email marketing communication and digital newsletters. I’ve witnessed first-hand the near death of this organization due to a past treasurer’s unethical handling of association funds and then it’s rebirth through our very passionate board members. I am now a part-time independent contractor for EPAZ and manage their day-to-day operations and assist them as the strive to serve their membership as set forth in the Mission and Vision statements.EPAZ Mission – To promote leadership in environmental management through education, advancement and application of science & technology and building a strong, connected and engaged membership of environmental professionals.EPAZ Vision – To be Arizona’s leading resource for environmental professionals’ continuing education and the exchange of information and ideas through networking events.
