  Being President of the Student Union Board involves overseeing 15 other executive members on the board. I am a resource for them to ensure that guidelines are followed and that all events are successful. The Student Union Board aims to provide a wide variety of events on campus for students to enjoy. In this role, I plan to continue to grow SUB and benefit the ISU community. The Vice President of Membership for the Student Union Board (SUB) is in charge of recruitment and retention for all team members. Without our members, we would not have enough volunteers to help make our 200+ events successful each year. During my time in this position, I helped recruit over 100 new members, a 300% increase from the previous year. This experience taught me how to oversee a large group of members and retain them through new activities and incentives. As the Performing Arts Director for the Student Union Board (SUB), my co-director and I plan and operate weekly events for students on campus. Together, we update the SUB website for each event, recruit volunteers, promote and market all SUB events, and actively participate in weekly meetings with the Executive board. I am very honored to hold this position and look forward to hosting more events for ISU students to enjoy!

  This past summer, I worked as a special events coordinator at the Palmer House Stable. During my time here, I was responsible for maintaining a clean and professional environment throughout the venue. I assisted the owner in developing new marketing ideas. These ideas included a Styled Shoot, new social media posts, and more outreach programs to develop local connections. Another responsibility I had was assisting clients as a day-of coordinator and overall wedding planner if requested! Working closely with each client helped me learn to balance many jobs at once and gave me a better insight into the wedding and special events industry.   Donor relations intern

  Through this summer internship, I have gained new skills involving non-profit structures and donor relations for an organization. As the Donor Relations Intern, I was in charge organizing donor profiles and tracking incoming donations to the Foundation. Along with the rest of the staff, I was given specific duties for our large annual fundraiser, the Corndog Kickoff. At this event, we raised almost $800,00 for Iowa State Fair renovations and preservation. Toward the end of my time as an intern, I help set up, organize, and stock merchandise stands to fundraise money for the Iowa State Fair. My other duties included customer service, donor hospitality, and VIP event planning. Show less
