  Passionate PhD researcher (FWO SB fellow) in the neuroscience - pharmaceutical science fieldDuring my PhD I aim to increase insights in (1) the mTOR pathway and (2) mTORopathies, a group of neurodevelopmental disease caused by dysfunctioning of mTORC1 signaling and resulting in brain abnormalities and epilespy. Here, I predominantly focus on Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) and use zebrafish models. Finally, (3) a drug repurposing project for mTORopathies starting from a bio-informatics approach and using validated zebrafish model has been recently initiated.For this purpose, I used a wide range of techniques such as CRISPR/Cas9-gene editing, RNA sequencing, electrophysiology and behavioral zebrafish assays, histology and (confocal and electron) microscopyBesides, I'm assisting several practical session in the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical SciencesIn 2021, I became PhD representative Faculty Pharmaceutical Sciences for the Doctoral School of Biomedical Sciences where I represent other PhD students to further optimise the doctoral training programme.
