  DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES--Creating 3D renderings of porch, deck, and addition projects using Cadsoft's ProArchitect software. Renderings and floor plans are submitted to potential clients to enable them to visualize a proposed project. --Creating 2D construction plans with AutoCAD LT. Attention is given to ensure plans meet local code requirements while at the same time meet client expectations. Plans are also designed to clearly communicate the scope of work to the job foreman. This involves using AutoCAD's basic drawing tools as well as more complex functions of AutoCAD such as blocks, dynamic blocks, and constraints.--Engineering various components of a deck, porch structure, or addition, to meet predetermined specifications. This is done by manual calculations and/or entering framing member data into engineering software, such as Forte or Vitruvius, so make sure each member is sufficiently sized to bear its assigned load.SALES RESPONSIBILITIES--Meeting with potential clients on site to find out the details of a project, giving suggestions as needed, and giving the pros and cons of available construction materials. Detailed proposals and drawings/renderings are then given to the customer via email. --Answering client questions after the initial estimate and creating updated drawings and proposals as neededOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES--giving input to ownership related to marketing, personnel decisions, and a variety of other areas Show less
