This was during the early days of viral media content, and traffic to the website tripled for a period of time after the publication of the story and the global media coverage it received.

  -In 2015, Patheos served over 30 million pageviews monthly, which made it the largest English-language religion website in the world. It ranked in Alexa's Top 500 global websites during my tenure.-Managed key content-creation, website management, and varied promotional processes in coordination with a network of 400 bloggers across all faith traditions.-Played a key role in the Patheos.com redesign and CMS merger, a yearlong project in which I benchmarked other sites, provided input and direction on page design and reader/editorial staff needs, wrote website copy to support site sections, participated in extensive user testing. I also helped produce a video and slidedeck to promote the new site design and capabilities. -Managed the day-to-day social media presence, which included building a daily editorial calendar, deploying audience engagement campaigns, keeping pace with Facebook’s newsfeed algorithm changes and analyzing the effectiveness of social media strategies using Google Analytics and Facebook Insights. -Curated & built the flagship Patheos newsletter and oversaw the development of 12+ other daily and weekly newsletters, ensuring content quality and adherence to brand/style in addition to monitoring newsletter results. -Created performance-driven paid-media articles to emphasize high-interest content about religion. Articles were syndicated on mainstream media websites such as CNN.com, TIME.-Updated the Patheos homepage daily and developed landing pages to support newsworthy/seasonal topics and client-sponsored initiatives using coding languages.-Worked with the COO to recruit authors and drive marketing partnerships that integrate content and promotion. During my tenure, the website gained record numbers of visitors due to implementing new and engaging content ideas & promotional methods. Also worked closely with the Astronomy.com team. Oversaw the production of 100+ new website articles monthly, from ideation to publication. Monitored performance of new content added to the website in Google Analytics and compiled weekly and monthly analytics reports that were delivered across the department and to senior leadership. Made content & product recommendations based on traffic trends, social insights, and deep knowledge of the audience/customer. Supervised a team that consisted of a digital content coordinator and a network of 100+ freelance writers & coordinated with print editor in chief on collaboration opportunities between digital and print staff to meet aggressive traffic goals & support the increasingly digital future of the brands. Proofread/edited articles for clarity, accuracy, and tone and house style guide. Crafted headlines and other language with reader engagement and SEO in mind.Managed a website budget, which included accurate tracking of outgoing money, entering work orders, and processing author payments via a database.Wrote annual holiday gift guides to support MyScienceShop, the online gift store for Discover and Astronomy magazines. Also helped launch the monthly subscription box for astronomy enthusiasts, Space and Beyond.
