      I moved to a town in southern Cambodia for two years to help a long-term missionary, Lewis Burke, with his ministry. Lewis had established an orphanage in Cambodia about 10 years prior, and was looking for ways to help the ministry become self-sustaining financially. To accomplish this goal, I was brought on to start an English School that could produce funds for the ministry. I had previous experience starting an English School in the states for immigrants. While there, I helped construct the school building, created curriculums for various ages and levels of english, performed administrative duties for the school, taught advanced english courses, and provided language certifications based on standardized testing. In addition to my school responsibilities, I had the opportunity to serve the children and staff of Heritage House Home for Children and assisted Lewis and indigenous church leaders with community outreach activities to build up the Church in Cambodia.
