Leadership - as a Midshipman I have upheld the professional standard expected of a Royal Naval Officer.Working with a diverse range of people - worked on an American Navy ship with an unfamiliar American compliment.Used my excellent communication skills to organise people and to persuade them to work well together towards a common goal. I have also used correct radio procedure.Good time management - I attended weekly Drill nights as well as active weekends whilst completing a demanding university course.Managing a team within a challenging environment - I led a team in a leadership exercise in the Brecon Beacons after little sleep and having walked 80Km with full kit.Led various planning exercises with a given goal where problem solving was key to gaining that goal.Been part of team exercises where I have used my listening and reasoning skills to take in and analyse ideas in order to suggest any of my own. Adapted ideas and goals during leadership exercises as new problems rose.Taken part in many adventurous training activities achieving three qualifications, Kayak Foundation Course, Open Canoe Foundation Course and Basic Ski Proficiency. • I have written Subsea Gate, Ball, Check, Needle and Choke Valve Specifications for various clients including Shell and Addax.• I have made contacts with vendors to acquire quotes and information about their valves.• I have written Bursting Disc Functional Specifications.• I have written a report assessing the feasibility of changing a passing NRV with either a new NRV or a SSIV. To carry out the study I have had to: • Work closely with the team as they were writing other feasibility studies for the project.• Contact vendors to get component costs and lead times. • Access the two options and make a recommendation on the behalf of J P Kenny.• I have checked proposed changes from vendors on various valve designs including choke valve flange welding arrangements and gate valve stem designs. • I have check gate valve drawings proposed by vendors to make sure they match up with the valve specification and P&IDs. Along with subsea valves I have also analysing comments made on topside hydraulic and electrical valve actuator specifications and datasheets. • I have made updates to the Actuator specifications and datasheets. I am familiar with topside valve and actuator standards including factors such as fire proofing and intrinsically safeness.Extra to the valve work I have completed, I have also:• Carried out research to assess the condition of all the subsea electrical jumpers within a field for Apache. This involved:• Collecting together all the relevant drawings for the field.• Using the drawings to identifying the where the electrical jumpers are connected to. • Collated information about the jumpers to form a jumper matrix including the jumper lengths, end connections, spares, identification numbers and bundle types.• Updated several controls specifications including Umbilicals and Subsea Accumulator Modules. • Updated Statement of Requirement reports.• Witnessed Factor Acceptance Testing on a Subsea Christmas Tree.
