The GTL Refinery is located in Mossel bay. It capacity is about 45 000 bpd and processes both the gas and condensate to produce liquid fuels and chemicals. The company is also involved in the Exploration and Production (E&P).

I was responsible for over 468 POB on the project for all HSE support.

  I was part of a team supporting the EMKRIL drilling operations regarding safety & health issues. I serve at on and off the rig sites as a contact for safety and health issues related to rig-based activities, executing initiatives and responding to requests and questions from the drill team, and to make sure the contractor comply with the client expectations.Conduct frequent walk-arounds around the rig site and monitor operations to ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times, along with conducting day to day, weekly and monthly inspections. Track all deficiencies identified and corrective actions to closeout.• Actively keep the on-site company men and HES lead / manager informed of any HES issues, problems and successes.• Attend and provide support in the organization and facilitation of all pre-tour and other safety related meetings.• Is part of the rig’s Emergency Response Team, and assist with all emergency and security drills, ensure all personnel are familiar with the station bill, assigned duties and proper attire. Recommend changes and improvements as needed.• Compile daily, weekly and monthly HES reports and distribute as required, as well as maintaining an accurate database on all safety related documentation pertaining to the rig site.• Lead / participate in incident investigations and identify root causes and corrective actions as required, along with monitoring the Behavioural Based Safety system to help identify developing trends and come up with possible mitigation methods.
