There is an element of teaching involved in my role (mostly at busy times such as school holidays) as well as office duties, which includes telephone and email correspondence, arranging lessons and staff training, and customer enquiries.

  A temporary summer job which involved media prep and routine laboratory work. Responsibilities included: autoclave management for sterilisation runs, lab cleaning, and stock checking. Regular use of pipettes, dispensers, and tissue culture consumables allowed me to gain a better understand of processes in the lab, nd stood me in good stead for a permanent role in a laboratory related career.

  Working also in the export department at Alpha Laboratories, this customer facing role involves; producing quotations, proving technical information, being culturally and economically conscious, and liaising with resellers and suppliers.This job requires in depth knowledge of Incoterms, Certificates of Origin, taxation and customs laws and a working knowledge of transportation regulations. Actively following up on product sample and literature requests, quotations and producing documents for international tenders, this position involves finding and developing leads as well as maintaining existing leads and supply chains. Show less Alpha Laboratories supplies diagnostic equipment, laboratory supplies, and chemical reagents within the UK and around the world. As a product marketing administrator, my role involves providing technical support to customers regarding laboratory equipment (PCR and electrophoresis equipment, pipettes, consumables), specification and conformity certification, and assisting the product managers and sales team with routine administrative tasks. Responsibilities also extend to organising equipment servicing and repairs, and warranty claims. This role also involves a great deal of customer service; arranging seminars and academies, equipment service and repair, pricing enquiries, technical information etc. This position ties in well with my BSc Honours in Biology I am studying towards, with the Open University.
