  Report and letter writing, permit application, and interacting with regulators were the main office duties. While working at a large landfill and quarry operation, new projects and tasks were constantly presented. I continually adjusted my workload to address these emergent issues, while maintaining the more routine projects and their deadlines.Working at the Johnson County Landfill exposed me to landfill construction, landfill operations, quarry operations, environmental monitoring (air, water, soil), spill response, and large scale composting operations. I conducted groundwater and surface water monitoring, well drilling, coring, groundwater pump and treat system O&M as needed at several sites. Drilling experience included air rotary, hollow stem augers (HSA) and some rock coring. I was also responsible for UST fuel inventory control, record keeping, and reporting. I also managed the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans for multiple sites. I created a spill response SOP for the hauling company, which addressed procedures for off-site spill response and an internal reporting and tracking system. Show less
