  Working as drilling fluid engineer and my role includes:• Mixing and treatment of different water base and oil base mud systems. Keep focus on fluids properties to achieve excellent hole cleaning and well bore stabilization.• Run hydraulics and extent of hole cleaning on Virtual Hydraulics software simulation.• Provide onsite services to the operator by measuring, testing, and supervising the running of drilling / completion fluid and subsequent displacements, including technical analysis and specific recommendations for controlling fluid properties. Reports to Field Services Manager, Location Manager, or Operations Manager• Advise clients on potential treatments or improvements to the drilling / completion fluids based on data analysis and fluids testing• Determine mud / brine composition and treatment for blend optimization and reclamation economics• Evaluating and monitoring the solids control equipment efficiency to optimize drilling fluids properties.• Performing pilot testing to validate the results to confirm compatibility of the product in the specific mud system.• Determine chemical treatment and requirements to optimize drilling / completion program• Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and rig personnel• Evaluate fluid property trends for potential contamination or quality problems• Insure proper chemical documentation including shipping papers and current MSD sheets are received with chemicals at location• Interpret data from drilling fluid checks to evaluate treatment or action required• Maintain environmental discharge and consumption records as required by legislation or client• Record drilling fluid test results to identify trends• Test and record all appropriate fluid properties in the appropriate ONE-TRAX reporting database• Write procedures for mixing drilling fluid special pills and cleanup chemicals.• Mud program design, pilot testing, cost, inventory, etc.• Preparing end of well reports.
