  The manufacturing process of ferrites was studied. The effect of different sintering atmospheres on the density and other properties of ferrites was also studied. From the experiments, the best sintering atmosphere was determined.

  The entire process of manufacturing of wires from billets was studied. The end trimming process of wire rods resulted in a reduction in the percentage yield (output). A thorough analysis of the root causes leading to end trimming was done. Some recommendations were suggested which helped in reducing the wastage caused due to end trimming. This resulted in improvement in productivity.

  The process of manufacturing automobile transmissions was extensively studied. The heat treatment process of gears and shafts was also studied. The loading fixture for loading components in the furnace was redesigned. As a result, the furnace capacity was utilized more efficiently and the productivity was increased by 24%.
