      • Took part in one month volunteer project to Mozambique;• General Volunteer, with specific responsibility for writing diary entries and taking photos for the SERVE website, planning and editing video for the group’s presentation on the theme of Food for the return home.

      Serve is an NGO specialising in recruiting and training Irish volunteers for placements in developing countries. I joined initially as an intern, and was hired for a second year in a paid capacity. • Collaborating with host partners in Africa, India and Brazil, developing strategies for international volunteer placements;• Managing all aspects of recruitment events in order to recruit 150 volunteers annually in universities, schools and community settings;• Designing and delivering Development Education workshops to volunteers to enhance learning and understanding of development issues; also facilitating practical pre-departure workshops on health and safety matters, preparation logistics and social media ethics;• Management of a donor database of 1500; • Updating social media platforms and writing press releases in order to provide timely and relevant information to supporters and general public and to raise organisational profile at a local and national level;• Researching, developing and drafting reports on the organisation’s development programme in South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe; conducting research visits to partners in all three countries.
