  Summer Research Intern

  This summer I have been working under breast and gynecologic medical oncologist Dr. Eleanora Teplinsky conducting research on financial toxicity in cancer patients. This project has received a grant to help alleviate patient stress concerning their financial situation. My roles included submitting a proposal to the Internal Review Board (IRB), filling out surveys with qualified patients, using FACIT scoring to score these surveys, and creating a REDCap database to store all data. Additionally, patients who met all criteria, I transferred to financial advocates to receive purchased gift cards with the grant money. I have greatly enjoyed my time working with many of the oncologists in the Valley Health System and I have gained invaluable knowledge about the research process! Show less
