      Currently pursuing my PhD in the Townsend Lab. Studying the neural control of metabolism via sensory nerve innervation of the adipose tissue. Looking at effects of ageing, obesity, and exercise on neural-adipose communication and metabolic regulation by the peripheral nervous system.

      Served on the governing body as a representative of international students, bringing their concerns to attention of the President and Board of Trustees to make changes in the system. Worked in the Kelly Lab to understand neurodevelopmental defects resulting from mutation in dNab2 in Drosophila melanogaster. Performed fruit-fly brain dissections at adult and larva stage, immunofluorescence staining, confocal microscopy imaging, and RNA-Sequencing Bioinformatic Data Analysis. Used Dewey Decimal System for shelving books and provided assistance to students, faculty, staff, and public patrons for accessing scientific articles, books, journals, and other resources. Assisted students in setting up cell culture assays, making gels for PCR, and data analysis. Elected as President of the umbrella organization for International students. Hosted, oversaw and assisted extracurricular activities led by other ethnic and cultural student organisations on campus. Presented the achievements, voiced the concerns and proposed solutions regarding issues surrounding the international student body to the college President and Board of Trustees on a bi-yearly basis. Continued worked in the Kelly Lab through the Neuroscience (REU) program. Achieved the research goal and presented work in a poster form at the REU Poster Symposium.
