I decided to return to CSU after attending massage school, no longer in the pursuit of a chemistry degree. I discovered my calling in the health field. I discovered my calling in the health field. The most difficult part of what I do as a rehab therapist is convincing clients that they need to care for themselves - they cannot come to me, another therapist, or even a doctor and expect a magic bullet treatment that will solve their discomfort patterns permanently. What clients do in their everyday lives habitually is what creates these. This mentality of a one-time fix makes it very hard to enact major changes in people for their own good. I will happily take a client's money for treating them - but ultimately I want to figure out some trick, some method to get them to do the exercises and stretches at home so that all they come to me for is occasional maintenance. I am hoping that I will pick up something from the Health Promotion concentration at CSU such that I am able to market self-care to clients more efficiently. Show less

I switched gears after massage school. I no longer pursue a chemistry degree.

I have taken and am taking every post-graduate class that I can. This includes reflexology, shiatsu, aromatherapy, abhyanga, neuromuscular rehabilitation, hot stone, lomi lomi, seaweed treatments, & skin exfoliation treatments. I have plans to be trained in manual lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, and one day if I have the time I would like to become a Zen Shiatsu Master (however that usually takes around nine years of practice).
