Project consisted of constructing 100 miles of ice roads to access and develop two gravel mine sites and construct a 200ft bridge. 1.5 million yards of overburden was removed and replaced to mine 2.2 million yards of gravel to construct three 20-acre pads and 12 miles of permanent access roads to support future development drilling, pipelines, and process facility infrastructure.

Project scope consisted of providing long term stabilization to five historic copper ore heaps that were previously leached with a sulfuric acid solution. Handling approximately 8 million cubic yards to regrade heaps, install new stormwater management ponds and cap regraded heaps with native alluvium material. Tied into existing HDPE containment liner to provide contained footprint for regraded heaps. Demolish and abandon historic infrastructure for disposal according to local and federal guidelines.   Expatriate role as a lead member of owner’s self-perform Earthworks team to develop a greenfield world class open pit copper mine in Eastern Russia. Overall project capex nearing $8 billion over a 4-year program to develop permanent infrastructure to support mine life cycle. Infrastructure included 5000-bed camp, 20km raw water pipeline, tailings storage facility, 2000m airstrip, operations and construction facilities to allow self sufficient operations in remote location.
