      As a student at Covenant, I entered with the idea of becoming a teacher. I took six classes, a field lab (teaching Algebra to seventh graders) two days a week, worked a full time job and had five children at the time. It was hectic, hard, challenging, and one of the best learning events of my life. I dean's listed, excelled at my job and my wife did not leave me. I consider my time there a success.       I went to UTC with the ambition of becoming a doctor. It was a lofty ambition, but I had three mentors who believed in and supported me through this process. The best part of the general education I received was my beliefs being challenged by protagonists. My educators took it upon themselves to attack and ridicule me for my beliefs. I learned to defend what I believed, my faith and my ideals (my character) without denigration and to a point of mutual respect.
