      Phi Theta Kappa President

As president of the Snow College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, I organized the leadership as a team. With this organization, I was able to participate not only as a leader but as a team member. We organized service projects such as a raffle for donated goods whose donations went to the red cross disaster relief efforts after the earthquake that struck Haiti and several food drives that supplied literally truck loads of food for the local food bank. I also organized members in scholarly discussions on topics of the day, such as the pros and cons of afluence in America. Show less

Statistical data analysis to seek out trends and fleet inefficiencies for Haul Truck Fleet (Caterpillar 793D, MT5300, 795F and Komatsu 930SE-3 & -4, 785HD)- Prepare and use Pareto Charts to determine maintenance priorities.- Perform root-cause-analysis on breakdowns, create failure summaries, and work with vendors on continuous improvement projects- Analyze oil sample test results for predictive maintenance and failure prevention- Participate on teams performing various lean projects (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)- Identified via oil analysis and corrected common fault in rear thrust bearing in an entire class of haul truck and work with vendor to have necessary critical spares on hand ready for install during the individual trucks next planned maintenance period.- Identified via statistical analysis and corrected fuel loading issues of Haul Truck Fleet. Problems were slow fueling, pressurized/damaged tanks, fuel overflows, etc. Common fault was found to be poorly manufactured automatic shutoff valves and historical contract. Worked with vendor to improve quality control. Issues were eliminated after replacement of valves. Show less
