  Execute and implement the sms, ISO and SHE management system to ensure compliance to safety regulations and standards.• Develop in conjunction with the line, safety awareness and discussion topics for the depots that will support the safety strategy and reduce incidents.• Monitor continuously the implementation of safety programmes & systems by undertaking site visits and inspections in any workplace in the area/depot to determine compliance to the agreed standards aligned to SANS, MGOI, TWR, ACTS, and other related standards .Recommend actions to address any deviations experienced and minimize risks.• Conduct operational risk/ safety audits on all processes& safety management systems to assess their effectiveness in achieving desired outcome and compile reports with specific area corrective action plans required in accordance to the findings and monitor the implementation and compliance of the recommendations / corrective action effected and closed • Review audit findings and make recommendations to address non- conformances.• Provide expect advice, guidance and maintain an up to date knowledge of current and proposed legislation, policies & procedures relating to Health and Rail safety issues in order to interpret, evaluate and advice management on the implications of such legislations or directive on operations & service delivery.• Monitor safety trends, suggest and implement corrective actions corrective actions to line managers as well as escalating safety issues of concern to the relevant stakeholders.
