  In this role I oversaw a comprehensive suite of training programs. This encompassed delivering instruction on all facets of the Australian Cert III in Carpentry, the BCA and the NCC and meticulously developing and maintaining curriculum content in alignment with Australian Standards. I managed the coordination of both practical and theoretical training sessions, facilitated the procurement of construction materials for hands-on construction tasks, and collaborated with local contractors and subject matter experts to arrange guest lecturers. I ensured the stringent implementation of Workplace Health and Safety policies, devised and executed maintenance schedules for tools and equipment, and provided senior staff with performance reports on capability, progress, and milestones. Show less Effectively supervised construction projects and work crews across multiple building sites, both domestically and overseas, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and stringent quality standards. During this time I embarked on my second deployment to Afghanistan, where I was the site foreman for the construction of the most remote patrol base built by Australian Forces. Oversight included daily task allocation for up to 30 carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and plant operators, with regular management of multiple concurrent worksites. Show less I completed a mature age apprenticeship with the Australian Army in General Construction (Carpentry & Formwork). This training includes a year of training at the Army Logistic Training Centre at Bonegilla in country Victoria, followed by two years of on the job training where I was seconded to work with a variety of civilian building companies in the greater Sydney area. This experience gave me exposure to residential and commercial carpentry, renovations, stair building, form working and concreting. Show less

  Project Manager/Contract Administrator

  This role is responsible for delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across the South-West Pacific on behalf of the Australian Government’s Pacific Step-up initiative. As a project manager and contract administrator, I report directly to the project director. I am part of a project team delivering three infrastructure projects in the Solomon Islands, valued at several hundred million dollars.
