      Resource Lead/Business Manager for the National Science Capability in Animal Health Programme

      Resource Lead for a Major Government Programme. My role was to support the senior leadership team to meet the programmes ambitious construction plan on time and within budget. Key responsibilities included:• Managed a team of 4 recruiters• Oversaw all recruitment campaigns to deliver resourcing requirements for the Science Capability in Animal Health programme (NSCAH) / Weybridge from ‘cradle to grave' including permanent recruitment, contractors, consultancy and temporary staff. • Worked with recruiting managers, HR, Cabinet Office, managed service providers and Government arm's length bodies (ALBs) to ensure the appropriate, cost effective and timely recruitments so that the programmes milestones where met. • Workforce planning to ensure the business area was sufficiently resourced with the right talent at the right time to meet future challenges.• Reviewed, evaluated continuous improvement of resourcing campaigns to maximise potential and VFM.• Assisted recruiting managers with grading of roles and special pay allowances through completion and submission of business cases. • Identified partners across the directorate where joint volume campaigns can be effectively managed to produce economies of scale and efficiencies.• Built strong effective relationships across the directorate and Government to identify and maximise talent moves. • Provided insight and innovation on recruitment and selections tools with the aim of improving ‘candidate experience’ and keeping Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the forefront of all recruitment campaigns. • Created and managed a complex workforce system which ensured ‘people in post’ data was current, relevant and provided workforce insights that drove resourcing decisions. • Set up and managed a reporting cycle in line with the requirements of a Major Government Programme which allowed for accurate reporting to cabinet office, HMRC, Government Major Project Authority and the Infrastructure Authority.
