      The pain point in the market that Dibly set out to solve, was that, consumers are not aware of ongoing promotions around the vicinity and therefore are no able to capitalise on them.Dibly enable consumers to discover happy hours, lunch/dinner promotions and last minute promotions around them. We help consumers to be aware of their food and shopping space in real time and empower them to make better decisions on the go!During the initial stages of the business, I was involved in the creation of Dibly's branding assets, sales deck and website. Together with our technology partner, we did the wireframe for the mobile application as well as the backend merchant portal.Being in charge of merchant acquisition, I successfully on boarded 180 merchants within the first 5 months of the business. These acquisitions were done through cold calling and door to door sales.To test the market and to garner consumer interest, my partners and I organised events to gather feedback from consumers and introduced them our product. Such events were pivotal in improving our mobile application’s user interface and experience.During the fund raising stage, we did multiple pitches to angel investors, venture capitals and private equity. We subsequently found an investor who was interested to enter into a joint venture with us and wanted us to spearhead a venture on a global scale.In this 10 months, I have learned much about the stages of how to develop a mobile application, how to pitch and convince others, events planning and how to create a good pitch decks for investors. I believe that these experiences are invaluable to me and will definitely help me in my future ventures and work. Show less

However, what platform comes to mind when you think of “Activities”?The tourist attraction market is a $125 billion dollar market and only 25% of these bookings are transacted through mobile.Partnering up with one of Singapore’s leading travel agents, Travelr is launching a platform that will allow consumers to discover & book activities and experiences, recommended to them based on their preferences.Travelr was started because:1) More travelers are opting for the Free & Easy way of traveling2) Many activity vendors remain offline as they do not have a platform to sell their products3) Many platforms sell run of the mill activities and not unique experiences4) Platforms that sell activities have poor user interface and experience5) There isn’t a dominant market playerWith a strong execution team and great strategic partnerships, we have got the buy in from tourism boards, global MNCs and many vendors even prior to launching!
