The process includes extraction of assets from the database, processing of field data and building the model. Demand clean up and correction has been carried out for model calibration and performing fire flow analysis on the models. Pressure Management programme mainly involves identifying issues contributing uneven pressures in the supply area like PRV Controls, high head loss mains, Pump Operations, frequency in bursts .etc and modelling schemes for each of the issues identified and evaluate the cost involved in implementing the schemes.Severn Trent Water UK, Atkins 2012As a Modeller I was responsible for a number of modelling schemes and investigations, providing support and SynerGEE modelling expertise to STW projects.The work covered a variety of issues including investigation of the cause of DG2 low pressure conditions and proposed solutions, modelling and analysis to pinpoint air-locking problems occurring at a major service reservoir and the identification of a short-term solution to the issue; A programme of Water Accountability Zones (WAZ) Mains Renewal Schemes: Deteriorating and poorly performing mains were identified for renewal. The appropriate models were used to assess the existing DMA hydraulic parameters and also the effects of isolating the mains for renewal in terms of mains pressures and velocities; resultant loss of adjacent mains; the affect on adjacent DMA’s which could be utilised; and risks encompassing special needs customers, sensitive businesses and major customers.
