      Manager, Cerner Training and Support

Within IU Health I created and managed a team whose role is to train and support the Cerner Ambulatory solutions for one of the nations largest multi-specialty physician groups. In this position I had the responsibility of ensuring that all staff were appropriately trained to the standards expected by the organization. In addition to a training team I also had a team of Support Analysts whose task it was to provide day-to-day support for the physicians and staff in their use of the EHR in over 220 unique clinic locations. We provided the personal connection that is so often lacking when the only source of assistance is the traditional helpdesk phone number. This is an invaluable link in the education process as it bridges the gap between classroom and workplace, and helps members of staff build their confidence with a large complex system. Practice managers and physicians know they have a reliable point of contact they can reach out to with questions and issues, even if they aren’t always strictly related to the EHR.In this role I worked with the central IT department to ensure the needs of my organization are met while bringing updates on the progress of projects to the organization as a way of continued open communication. I served on several steering committees related to System enhancements, Meaningful Use and Quality that allowed me to use the full range of my knowledge and experience. I was also responsible for ensuring that as many of the eligible providers as possible achieved Meaningful Use status each year, with over 700 being successful in 2016 in both Medicare and Medicaid attestations.I sourced and implemented Microsoft’s Dynamics CRM as a tool to manage a team that spends 80% of its time on the road. It quickly became apparent that Dynamics CRM was also an ideal tool for tracking the Meaningful Use status of the EP’s, so I also maintain the role of CRM system administrator. Show less

      Training Manager

In this role I am working on the deployment of the Cerner EHR and Revenue Cycle solutions to the 6 hospitals in the Indiana FSSA. My role has me managing the training phases of the clinical and patient accounting go-lives as well as developing the long term training strategy for an organization with it's first EHR.The Behavioral Health implementation was hugely successful and was a delight to be a part of. We are still hearing the positive comments from the client on how their charting experience has improved so dramatically, which is wonderful to hear.Since the clinical go-live I have been supporting the adoption efforts by providing optimization coaching and establishing a super user network. I'm also the administrator of Cerner's eCoach solution, embedded in both PowerChart and Revenue Cycle for delivering video and pdf content, which has been an essential element in the successful transition to the EHR. Post go-live activities have also seen the development of a superior treatment planning solution that allows for collaborative documentation that meets JC standards. Show less
