As we learned more about the professional and career development needs of Laney students, I advised and collaborated with senior leadership to develop short-term and long-term strategies and projects related to support. In addition to determining workshop concepts and recruiting facilitators to share their expertise with students on different topics, I developed and facilitated workshops for graduate students across 30 programs. In addition to representing the Laney Graduate School across the university and in a national conversations about best practices for supporting doctoral students in broad career development, I researched best practiced, tracked attendance, and analyzed program evaluations closely to determine future programming and strategy. Show less When I started at Laney, I was responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of the initial full calendar of professional development programming for 2000 graduate students across 40 academic programs. I met regularly with Deans and Faculty to advocate for greater career development support for graduate students and to promote this new programming. I also oversaw an overhaul of the annual Teacher Training workshops required for all doctoral students with the support of an awesome Advisory Board. Show less
