      Activities and Societies: I was actively involved with the Bharat Parivaar Society at University of Birmingham. Bharat Parivaar was set up with the objective of providing advice and guidance to new students as well as offering an informal platform for interaction. The group organised events throughout the academic calendar and provides an opportunity to students to meet their peers from India.       The research was part of a larger project on the structural and biochemical mechanism involved in the biosynthesis of the antibiotic mupirocin. The project lasted for eight weeks which was supported by a grant from society of biology which i successfully applied for. I learnt and applied the skills necessary for comparative/homology modelling of proteins, including the use of sequence alignment, sequence threading, secondary structure prediction and comparative modelling software.
