      Held the remit to deliver all site engineering activity, and ensure that the department was compliant with Health and Safety legislation. This also included additional responsibility for project work and continuous improvement activity, controlling of a budget of c£2.5m and representing the department as part of the Business Management Team that led the operational aspects of the site. Additionally, I was the Engineering Lead on the conversion of a decarburising line to a magnate line a project of value £5m. I was responsible for the line management of all Maintenance Teams, Project Teams, Planning and Design Teams on site. Managing a team of approximately 35 people. Weniger anzeigen As the responsible person for the Mechanical and Civil condition of Orb Works site and equipment, I ensured compliance to all statutory and regulatory legislation, including acting as the nominated responsible person for Legionella monitoring and control. Financially I had full budgetary control of the mechanical maintenance budget, including the site mechanical maintenance contract. I project managed several capital expenditure projects during this role including a plant chiller upgrade and had a direct report of 5 Engineers and 20 shift craft resource. During my time as Senior Engineer I was the department representative for the introduction of Lean Manufacturing to Orb. I carried out several projects using 5S, SMED and TPM. Weniger anzeigen

      Departmental Manager for site wide Mechanical Engineering. My Responsibilities are for all Central Mechanical Engineering Services. Areas of Responsibility include Management and Leadership of the Central Engineering Workshops, Management and Performace of the Plant Mobile Maintenance Team, Management of Shift Engineering resource and Plant Improvement Teams including Mechanical Graduates and Apprentices. Site owner for several key contract companies and site Mechancial permit systems and responsible person for Asset compliance teams (Mechanical Legislation) on site.Department size of 80 persons. Recently responsibilities include a £1.5m CAPEX Reheat Furnace Rebuild scheme, a £750k Pilot burner scheme which is realizing Gas savings of £3k p.a., together with the control of the Hot Strip Mill Special Revenue budget and the program management of all Llanwern site projects. I am the responsible person for Permit to Work; Confined Space and Hot Work permit systems at Llanwern. Part of the remit includes deputising for the Site Engineering Manager where the situation arises. I was part of the Senior Project team that recovered No2 Pickle Line after a major Fire in Dec 2011.       Senior Mechanical Engineer

My main responsibilities lie in the engineering function where I provide technical leadership to engineers and technicians throughout site on maintenance and improvement works.
