      I wrote and photographed five stories, all of which focused on the community of Northeast Central Durham. My stories were entirely developed on my own, from concepts to interviews and writing. I covered a new art studio, the annual MLK/BHM parade, a fundraiser, the work of a high school English teacher and the efforts of a local nonprofit.

My quality of work led to me being one of 15 writers chosen from the 28 working for the A&C desk to write a special "Decade in Review" story for the paper.
