  Responsibilities as General Secretary include providing strategic advice to the Provincial Executive, establishing and overseeing good governance practices, managing the union office and its employees, overseeing operations, liaison with stakeholders, overseeing budgets. As part of my duties, I also sit on various Boards related to OSSTF. As Director of Communication and Political Action I advise the Provincial Executive on communication, government relation and political action strategy. I oversaw the day to day operations of the Department to ensure that OSSTF's communication and government relations goals were met.

  As a member of the OTF Board I am involved in decision making on issues related to the teaching profession in Ontario and in pension plan governance. The OTF, with the Government of Ontario, is a partner to the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers). We appoint Directors to Teachers and we also jointly make determinations on the filing of valuations and benefit levels.
