This was a wonderful opportunity to practically visualize what I have studied during my engineering course.

  Responsible for engineering & execution of Capex projects, handling day to day issues of plant, detailed engineering of static equipment/piping & support to plants on welding procedures. Brief of my job description is as under:- Prepare cost estimates, acquire budgetary approval for Capex projects.- Detailed engineering of Capex projects including preparation/review of all technical documents including fabrication drawings, inspection & testing plans, welding procedures, NDE procedures hydrotest requirements and inspection.- Field execution of Capex projects.- Providing technical assistance including detailed engineering study to FFC Plants for resolving day to day problems at the Plant.- Prepare piping drawings for new or modified piping networks to check code compliance.- Prepare structural drawings of structural modifications at plant sites to satisfy the requirements of AISC code.- Prepare welding procedures with reference to ASME section IX and SNAMPROGETTI standards.- Prepare engineering package/RFQ and technical bids evaluation for awarding outsourced jobs to most suitable vendor based on techno-economic aspects.- Detailed review of engineering documents submitted by vendors including design and fabrication drawings, welding procedures and quality inspection plans.- Preparation of yearly business plan for the department keeping in view the steps to be taken for efficiency improvement of the section.- Provide assistance to plant site during Turnarounds/Shut-downs as inspection/maintenance engineer. Show less As a project engineer, I am responsible for handling day to day issues of plant, carrying out flexibility and stress analysis of piping systems using AUTO PIPE and CAESAR, structural analysis of structures using STAAD Pro and design/review of equipment including pressure vessels and heat exchangers using COMPRESS software. Brief of my job description is as under:- Providing technical assistance including detailed engineering study and software support to all FFC Plant sites for resolving day to day problems at the Plant.- Perform flexibility and stress analysis of piping systems for new or modified piping networks to check code compliance and suggest modifications required, if any.- Perform structural analysis of all kind of support structures at plant sites to satisfy the requirements of AISC code.- Carry out design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers using ASME Section VIII Div.1 and TEMA standards for in house fabrication at FFC plant site.- Preparation of design and fabrication drawings for pressure vessels and heat exchangers for in-house fabrication.-- Preparation/review of welding procedures with reference to ASME section IX and SNAMPROGETTI standards.- Preparation/review of engineering package/RFQ and technical bids evaluation for awarding outsourced jobs to most suitable vendor based on techno-economic aspects.- Detailed review of engineering documents submitted by vendors including design and fabrication drawings, welding procedures and quality inspection plans.- Fitness for service evaluation of in-service equipment at FFC plant site with respect to API 579 and remaining life assessment for ensuring reliability and safety of the plant.- Preparation of yearly business plan for the department keeping in view the steps to be taken for efficiency improvement of the section.- Provide assistance to plant site during Turnarounds/Shut-downs as inspection/maintenance engineer.
