  Rheology- Developed experimental protocols to characterize tribological properties of water/oil on surfaces with nano-sized pores (porous anodic alumina) using a rheometer. Thin film deposition- Physical Vapor Deposition and DC magnetron sputtering Contact Angle Measurements- Engineered a custom set-up to quantify the wetting properties of various fluids on nano-porous surfaces.

  - Engineered and characterized experimental systems to explain the fundamental principles of novel materials: active fluids and active liquid crystals.These materials were assembled from biological building blocks such as cytoskeletal filaments and motor proteins.- Developed microfluidic devices with photolithography to characterize the fluid flow profile in confined boundary conditions.- Quantified the active fluid dynamics using confocal, fluorescence, bright-field microscopy.- Rapidly gained experience in biochemistry: cloning (PCR), bacterial cell transformation, protein expression and purification (affinity chromatography, AKTA), gel electrophoresis, wet-bench techniques, fluorescence, bright field and confocal microscopy.- Introduced highly efficient image analysis algorithms using MATLAB and Python to quantify characteristic properties of active fluids.
