      Johns Brook Lodge Hut Crew

Johns Brook Lodge is the only backcountry facility in the Adirondacks. I would carry in anywhere from 50 - 100 pounds of food on my back and carry out a third of that in trash and recyclables (4 mile hike from parking area) in an array of weather conditions. I have extensive knowledge of the Johns Brook valley, since we would give trail information to guests. Used and operated a two-way radio professionally with the DEC, summit stewards, and Adirondack lodge. Cooked, cleaned, disposed properly of human waste, managed a water treatment facility, composted, and essentially ran a backcountry lodge with a small group of staff. I have hiked all of the trails in the Johns Brook valley. Show less
