  I created molds and created casts of mastodon and basilosaurus (early whale ancestor) bones for display and research purposes. Significant use of silicone for making the molds, as well as fiberglass and polyester resin to create the rigid support structure. Casts were primarily polyester and fiberglass composite.

  I was a race vehicle driver and support engineer for the team's championship run at the 2005 North American Solar Challenge and the 3rd place finish in the 2005 Panasonic World Solar Challenge in Australia. Prior to my engineering work as a race crew member, I supported the logistics, public relations, and day-to-day operations of team facilities. I was the top sponsorship procurer for the Operations team in terms of value, and I worked as a face of the team at our displays at shows and conferences like the North American International Auto Show, Management Briefing Seminars, and Eyes On Design.   I worked in the Basic Oxygen Furnace Shop (BOF) at ArcelorMittal - Burns Harbor. Much work was involved in diagnosing problems and providing solutions for many of the machines in the shop as well as the support facilities. I worked specifically on bag filtration houses, vacuum degasser machines and support operations, furnace and ladle quality monitoring, Hot Metal Desulfurization stations, and other operations supporting primary steel production.
